Historic Preservation

Briarhurst Manor

Manitou Springs, Colorado

Overview

Briarhurst Manor is a 19th-century sandstone estate at the base of Pikes Peak, restored from the ground up into a premier hospitality and events destination. The project balanced careful preservation of the manor’s original stonework and timber detailing with a full modernization of its systems and interiors.

The Challenge

Decades of wear had taken a toll on the original masonry, roofline, and interior finishes. The renovation had to protect the building’s historic character while bringing it up to modern hospitality standards.

The Solution

The team led a phased restoration, rebuilding the roofline and structural framing, restoring the original sandstone facade, and re-landscaping the grounds, all while preserving the manor’s Gothic Revival character.

Result & Impact

Briarhurst Manor now stands as a fully restored landmark, ready to host events and guests for generations to come.
